Eagle Lake

Eagle Lake

Eagle Lake is a gem hidden between two lakes visible from the road. It can only be accessed via other lakes. Maybe this is where all the fish are hiding!

Getting there

There are two access points to reach Eagle Lake: one is from Blue Mountain Lake by paddling south through the narrows, the other is to put-in at Utowana Lake and paddle north through the narrows.

Fishing

Atlantic salmon, lake trout, bullhead, panfish, bass, and perch can be found here. There is no shoreline fishing; please respect private property.

Insider Tips:

  • Fish the weed beds for bass and panfish.
  • Troll slowly in the center of the pond for some decent landlocked salmon and lake trout.

Special Regulations: Much of the shore is private property, so please respect the rights of the landowners. State land exists near the lean-to and at the above mentioned access off of Route 28. Always follow state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional DEC office.

Paddling

This is an interesting paddle if you do a thru-trip from Blue Mountain Lake to Utowana Lake.
