Town of Webb Historical Association’s Local History and Stories Series
Each week, the series will feature a different speaker to deliver a presentation and lead a discussion on a topic related to local and regional history. The public is invited to attend, enjoy the talks, ask questions, and share related information.
Thursdays throughout the summer at 5 pm at the Old Forge Public Library.
Join Ron Patterson on July 24, as he speaks about the Oneida Indian Nation and Culture.
The Oneida Indian Nation, part of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), historically inhabited the area of upstate New York, which included what is known as, the Adirondack Region.
Ron Patterson, the Manager of the Oneida Heritage/Shako:wi Cultural Center, is a prominent speaker and educator on Oneida Nation history and culture. As a member of the Oneida Nation's Wolf Clan, he possesses a deep knowledge of Indigenous culture and is dedicated to preserving and sharing Haudenosaunee traditions for future generations. Patterson is known for presentations that delve into the Oneida Nation's linear history, including the significance of Wampum belts and Treaties.
