Hosting events throughout the season!
Throughout the year, Speculator comes alive with a vibrant calendar of events that showcase the community's unique Adirondack spirit. Summer kicks off with a massive 4th of July Celebration, featuring a classic parade down Route 30, live music at the pavilion, and a spectacular fireworks display over the public beach at dusk.
As the leaves change, fall traditions take center stage with the Speculator Bear and Wine Festival, where you can sample New York’s finest spirits while learning about local wildlife, and Apple Fest, a family favorite filled with cider, games, and seasonal treats.
The excitement continues into the colder months with the Speculator Holiday Stroll, featuring vendors, a village-wide Yeti Scavenger Hunt, and a tree lighting!
Whether it’s the thrill of a Pond Skimming competition in March or Small Town Holiday Fair in December, there is always a festival, market, or parade to make your visit unforgettable.

Winter Warm-up: Soup & Chili Night! SPECULATOR — When school’s out for Winter Break, warm up with a good cause!The Lake Pleasant Senior Group is hosting a cozy food fund-raiser featuring homemade soup and chili! Where: Senior Center, 2881 State Route 8, Speculator When: Thursday, Feb. 19 Time: 4:00 p.m. until sold out Cost: Donation only Come hungry, bring friends, and support our local seniors—nothing beats comfort food on a winter evening!
Blind Date with a Book & Puzzle Swap
Blind Date with a Book & Puzzle Swap Drop into the library to swap one of your old puzzles for one of ours, then stay and browse our Blind Date with a Book selection! Friday, February 20 from 2 - 6 pm Books will be wrapped up so you can’t see the cover or author. You’ll have to choose your date based on the first line of the book! We hope you enjoy your date!
