Hosting events throughout the season!
Throughout the year, Speculator comes alive with a vibrant calendar of events that showcase the community's unique Adirondack spirit. Summer kicks off with a massive 4th of July Celebration, featuring a classic parade down Route 30, live music at the pavilion, and a spectacular fireworks display over the public beach at dusk.
As the leaves change, fall traditions take center stage with the Speculator Bear and Wine Festival, where you can sample New York’s finest spirits while learning about local wildlife, and Apple Fest, a family favorite filled with cider, games, and seasonal treats.
The excitement continues into the colder months with the Speculator Holiday Stroll, featuring vendors, a village-wide Yeti Scavenger Hunt, and a tree lighting!
Whether it’s the thrill of a Pond Skimming competition in March or Small Town Holiday Fair in December, there is always a festival, market, or parade to make your visit unforgettable.

Hike to Colonel Pecks Grave
Colonel Peck Gravesite Commemoration & Historical WalkRevolutionary War 1776–2026 Step back into our region’s proud Revolutionary War heritage and honor one of Lake Pleasant’s earliest patriots at a special historical gathering and guided walk to Colonel Peck’s gravesite. Hosted at the Lake Pleasant Library, the program begins with an engaging historical presentation by Aaron Weaver, Lake Pleasant Historian, who will share the story of Colonel Peck, during the Revolution, and the enduring legacy of those who shaped our community’s earliest days. Following the presentation, participants will join a guided hike to the gravesite to pay tribute and experience this important landmark firsthand. Dates:Tuesday, June 30 – 3:00 PMTuesday, August 11 – 3:00 PM Location:Lake Pleasant Library, followed by a short guided hike to the gravesite Community members, families, and history enthusiasts of all ages are warmly invited to attend. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the hike. Join us as we preserve and celebrate the stories that built our region and continue to inspire future generations.
Speculator Farmers Market
The Speculator Region Farmers' & Crafters' Market is held at the Speculator Pavilion on Thursdays. Wonderful fresh produce, local artists and photographers, hand-crafted and sewn treasures, and so much more are available each week...
The Village of Speculator Fireworks Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day in the heart of the Adirondacks at the Speculator Fireworks Celebration, proudly hosted by the Village of Speculator.Join friends, family, and neighbors on Friday, July 3rd at 9:30 PM at the Speculator Public Park – Osborne Point and the Speculator Public Beach, as the night sky comes alive with a spectacular fireworks display over the water.This cherished community tradition brings people together each year to honor our nation’s heritage with a memorable evening of light, color, and small-town pride. Fireworks will begin at dusk, approximately 9pm from Big Sand (Boyd property next to Little Sand campground) Please stay a minimum of 450ft from shore for your saftey.
