Annual Speculator/Lake Pleasant Polar Plunge
Annual Speculator/Lake Pleasant Polar Plunge Ring in the New Year with a cool, fresh start! Join the fun for the Annual Speculator/Lake Pleasant Polar Plunge! All are welcome to plunge, and spectators are welcome and encouraged. At the Fire Department's noon siren, plungers will take a brisk dip in the river located next to the Speculator Pavilion. When: Wednesday, January 1, 2026 Where: Boat Launch at the Speculator Pavilion and Park Donations from the polar plunge will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. After the plunge, warm up at the Lemon Tree Brewery with hot chocolate!

Mark your calendars! Each year, the first weekend of March is designated as a Free Snowmobile Weekend. During this period, out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers can hit New York’s trails for free—no NYS registration required. As long as your sled is properly registered and insured in your home state or province, you’re good to go!
