The Speculator Area is known far and wide for its amazing seasonal events!
Some of our area events are hosted by our Chamber of Commerce and some are hosted by Local Organizations made up of extremely committed volunteers!
From the area Farmer's Market, 4th of July Celebration, AppleFest, Bear and Wine Festival, Oaktoberfest, the annual TWIGS Craft fair and beyond, our area events sure do shine!

NYS Free Fishing Days
New York State’s Free Fishing Days let residents and non-residents fish without a license. It’s a great chance to try fishing, reconnect with the sport, or bring friends and family for a fun day outdoors. Regular fishing rules still apply!

The Mike Norris Ice Fishing Derby happens every year in Raquette Lake on the last Saturday of January.

During this period, out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers can hit New York’s trails for free. No NYS registration required. As long as your sled is properly registered and insured in your home state or province, you’re good to go!
