Adirondack Traveler Information

We are committed to ensuring that every experience in the Adirondacks is the best it can be and look forward to welcoming you with public health and safety as our top priority.

Do your part - play it safe!

It is important that all residents and visitors continue to observe safe practices.

  • Masks are required regardless of vaccination status, thank you.
    • New York State currently requires masks to be worn in all indoor spaces and venues unless a vaccination requirement is enforced by the establishment. Please respect these requirements, and stay safe.
    • All Adirondack businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask that covers their mouth and nose.
  • Come vaccinated, thank you.
    • Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to contract and spread COVID-19.
    • If eligible, visitors should schedule their booster dose prior to travel to better protect themselves and the communities they visit.
  • Monitor symptoms
    • If any symptoms develop, travelers must immediately self-isolate and contact the local public health authority or their healthcare provider to determine if they should seek testing. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and rest.
  • If you are unvaccinated, we respectfully request that you wait to visit our communities. If you must come, please remain socially distant.

Kindness is the Adirondack way

The world is understaffed, and so are we. Please be patient with all of those who are working hard to provide the welcoming, laid-back experience the Adirondacks are so well known for. Remember, kindness can move mountains.

Information for Canadian travelers

The border between Canada and the United States is open! We are excited to welcome our neighbors to the north back to the Adirondacks for safe, fun getaways and adventures. Although the border is open, anyone traveling between the US and Canada must follow certain rules that allow for safe travel, including proof of vaccination and proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your boarder crossing.

For short trips, a single test may be used for re-entry within 72 hours.

To help you learn more and prepare for your trip, please consult this document. It explains what you need at the border, testing, and more, to ensure that your trip goes as smoothly as possible.

Plan before you go

To ensure you have the most up-to-date information, it is important to check directly with the specific restaurant, lodging property, attraction, etc., that you want to visit. Please note that many of our area attractions are requiring advanced ticket purchasing and reservations.
