Mountain Memories Special Dining Event: Join Mountain Memories the last Tuesday of each month from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. All you can eat "themed" menu. Served by your wait-person; table side at Mountain Memories on the hill banquet house.

Refreshments provided by and event sponsored by the Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club. Donations for fireworks accepted at the Oxbow Inn. |
| Feb 18 | Annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast: 8:00am to 11:00am at Morehouse Recreation Center. The menu includes pancakes, eggs (any style), sausage, Bacon, coffee, tea and orange juice. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Sponsored by the Morehouse Volunteer Fire Department. |
| Feb 18 | Bicentennial Event: Snow Sculpting: asking individuals, families and groups to construct snow sculptures throughout Speculator and Lake Pleasant. Snowmen, snow forts, animals, buildings, whatever you want to construct, no theme. Call Joan Tracy, 548-4075 for a place to contruct your snow sculpture. Needs to be done by Feb. 18th. Will be judged during the week of Feb. 19th. 1st prize $25, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons and certificates to all who participate. | Feb 18 | Sacandaga Challenge at Oak Mountain: 10:00am. Race through gates, hit small freestyle jumps...challenge your skills. Winner will receive a cool prize. Entry fee $10, includes a free T-shirt. There will be four categories: Men's ski, Men's ride, Women's ski and Women's ride. Prizes for each category. Sign up now, only 25 spots available! Italian Night: 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Various Italian Dishes made by area chefs plus spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and desserts. Torchlight Parade; Night Ski Event. Come and celebrate the New Year with a kid's torchlight parade, followed by an instructor's parade and FIREWORKS! First 25 kids to sign up will participate in the torchlight. |
| Feb 19 | Free Pancake Breakfast sponsored by Lake Pleasant Vol. Fire Department. Sunday February 19, 2012, 7 am - 12 pm. To be held at the Lake Pleasant Fire Station, South Shore Road, Lake Pleasant. Menu to include: Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, orange juice. A 50/50 raffle will be held. There is still chances to get in on our annual raffle to be drawn during our annual picnic in July. Come out and have a hearty breakfast with your family and friends. As always, donations are gratefully accepted. |
| Starting Feb 20 and continuing throughout the year. | Bicentennial Event: What Does 200 Mean to You: Design something that reminds you of 200 years. Could include nature, like pinecones, spell out 200 with macaroni, 200 pennies, anything that represents 200 and we will display them on the wall in the Lane Emporium. Will be going on through out the winter, spring and summer so if can't make it Feb. 20th come to the Chamber when you are finished. | Feb 25 | Speculator-Lake Pleasant-Piseco Fish and Game Club 11th Annual Ice Fishing Contest: Registration at the Inn at Speculator from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on 2/24 & from 5:00am to 9:00am on 2/25. Entry fee is $25 for advance registration and $30 the day of the event. |
| Feb 25 | "Dummy" Big-Air Contest and Torchlight Parade at Oak Mountain: 10:00am Build a dummy that attaches to skis or a snowboard to launch off a jump. Your dummy will be judged on creativity, best crash and biggest air. Entry fee $25. Cash Prize for the winner! 5:00pm Second Torchlight Parade of the season. Kids parade (12 and under), followed by instructors's parade. |

| March 3 | Cardboard Box Race and Rail Jam at Oak Mountain: 10:00am Make a sled out of cardboard and ride it down the hill. Entry fee $10 per sled. Winner gets a sweet prize. Judged on creativity and speed. May enter alone or as a group. 5:00pm Fourth rail competition of the season under the lights. Entry Fee is $5. Cool Prizes. Limited to 25 people. |

| March 17 | Bicentennial Event: Irish Road Bowling. Teams of 4 (2 male/2 female) starting at the end of Elm Lk road. Teams come by every 10 minutes doing their sporting best to accomplish the course in the fewest throws. Mixed foursomes of 2 men and 2 ladies are best. Spectators are encouraged. A $20 entry fee will cover the cost of supplies..and prizes. ($20 per team or $5 per) Colorful attire...with an Irish theme is best....starting at noon 3/17 with refreshments and music at the finish line....Chamber area. | July 1-15 | Bicentennial Event: The Speculator Amateur Radio Club (SpARC) will set up and operate ham radio equipment at different locations and times throughout this time period, using the special event call sign K2S. Operation will be on both short range and long distance (VHF and HF) frequencies, and contacts are expected with ham radio operators around the world.
